Tips For Leaving Your Home When You Travel – Peter Greenberg.com Travel News

Some of us have been stuck at home so long we’ve forgotten some of the basic things to protect ourselves when we travel.

Nationwide burglary and home break-in numbers have been down and for good reason. We’re all home. But when we start to travel again, try to remember the things you must do to make your house less of a target for burglars.

Cancel newspaper deliveries. Put a hold with the post office on your mail.

Don’t leave spare keys in obvious places. If you think leaving the key under a brick or rock near your front steps is smart, think again.

Put your living room and at least one bedroom light on a timer to go on at dusk and off at dawn.

And please…wait to post all your vacation pictures until after you return back home.
